Privacy Policy
Updated September 13, 2026. This policy covers the image converters and extension setup guide on convertfilekit.com.
Images on this website
Selected AVIF and WebP files are processed in your browser. Image contents and filenames are not uploaded to a conversion server. The site reads the files you choose or drop, displays their names and dimensions, and creates the output locally.
Temporary files and settings
The website uses local IndexedDB to retain its queue and results. Conversion settings are stored in localStorage. The queue expires after one hour without activity and is cleaned up when the converter is next active, with current operations protected. Each browser tab has its own queue. Reloading the tab restores that queue; duplicating or opening another tab starts a separate session. Expired sessions from closed tabs are cleaned up when the converter is opened again.
Keep the converter tab open while processing. If the page is reloaded or closed, unfinished work may be interrupted. Stored results can be restored if the browser has retained them, but storage may be cleared or limited by your browser. Clear removes the local queue safely. Copies already downloaded to your computer remain until you delete them yourself.
The Chrome extension
The extension is a separate product surface with its own local storage. Its popup can close while its offscreen processing continues. It uses offscreen, storage and downloads permissions for local conversion, settings and saving results. It does not read the websites you visit, upload images or contain analytics. Website files and extension files are not automatically shared.
Website analytics and Cookie settings
This website does not use advertising trackers, Yandex Metrica, Webvisor or an analytics counter. Cookie settings stores your analytics preference in localStorage. Saving either choice does not activate tracking. Cancel does not change your saved preference. Clearing site storage resets it.
Hosting
Cloudflare hosts this website and delivers its pages and assets over HTTPS. To deliver and protect the service, Cloudflare receives connection information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser headers. This does not include the images you select in the converter or their filenames. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its handling of service data.
