Video to Audio Converter turns local recordings into MP3, WAV or M4A files in Chrome. Extract audio from video for listening, editing or keeping a separate soundtrack. Add your originals to one workspace, choose the output and download the results. Your source files stay unchanged. GET STARTED 1. Click the extension icon to open the converter tab. 2. Choose videos from your computer or drop them into the file area. 3. Select a format and quality, then press Convert. 4. Listen to a finished result and download it separately or in a ZIP. CHOOSE YOUR OUTPUT To convert video to audio for everyday listening, start with MP3 at 192 kbps. You can also select 128 or 320 kbps. M4A uses AAC compression at 128, 192 or 256 kbps. WAV produces uncompressed 16-bit PCM for apps that need an editable sound file. The same controls handle MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI containers with compatible audio tracks. Each item is checked before conversion. A filename alone does not guarantee support for the codecs inside it. Unreadable or damaged files receive a message in the queue. EXTRACT SOUND FROM VIDEO Need to get audio from video that contains several languages or recordings? Choose the required track in that file's row. The first track is selected by default; available language and codec information helps distinguish the others. One selected track is saved per conversion. Separate tracks are not combined. WORK THROUGH A BATCH Video to Audio Converter processes files one at a time using the settings selected for that run. Each row shows its own progress and result, so an unsuccessful item does not stop the others. • Add several originals to the queue. • Review their names, sizes and durations. • Remove an item before starting the next run. • Keep completed results while processing the remaining files. SAVE AUDIO FROM VIDEO Preview each finished file with the built-in player. Download saves that result; Download as ZIP collects all completed items, including results made with different settings. Matching filenames receive numbered suffixes inside the archive. Previously completed results keep their format when you change the settings for another run. CANCEL AND TRY AGAIN Cancel stops the active file and allows other items to continue. Stop queue leaves pending videos ready for later. Retry prepares a failed, cancelled or completed item again; choose your settings and press Convert when you are ready. Preparing a completed item again removes its previous result from this tab, so download that copy first if you need it. KEEP THE WORKSPACE OPEN Switching to another tab does not cancel processing, although background work can be slower. Closing or reloading the converter clears the session and stops the current operation. Files are not restored automatically. Download your results before closing, and use Clear queue to release the current selection and results. LOCAL PROCESSING Video to Audio Converter includes its processing engine and works offline after installation. It does not upload your videos, read the websites you visit or require an account. The extension contains no advertising or analytics. Temporary processing data is released after each operation; completed results remain in the tab until removed or closed. Downloaded copies remain on your computer. BEFORE YOU CONVERT • Up to 20 files in the queue and 1 GiB per source video. • Up to 128 MiB per result and 256 MiB of results held in the tab. • Output uses 48 kHz and up to two channels; multichannel tracks are mixed to stereo. • Processing speed and available memory depend on your device. Long WAV exports can reach the output limit quickly. Choose MP3 or M4A at a lower bitrate, or use a shorter source. Download and remove finished results to make room before continuing a large batch. DOES CONVERSION IMPROVE QUALITY? No. A higher bitrate cannot restore detail missing from the recording. MP3 and AAC add lossy compression; WAV avoids another lossy encoding step but creates larger files. Extracting audio from video does not remove noise, isolate voices or separate music from speech. This version accepts local files, not website links or YouTube downloads. Trimming, merging and transcription are not included. Open the downloaded file in your destination app to check playback and size before using it.
